Choosing the Right Tanker Capacity for Your Site
Clients often ask for the largest tanker available on the assumption that fewer trips means lower cost. Sometimes that is true. Often it is not.
Access is the first constraint
A 30,000 litre trailer unit needs a wide, firm and well-drained access route with a turning area. On a congested urban site, two 15,000 litre rigid tankers will discharge faster than one trailer that spends twenty minutes manoeuvring.
Match capacity to your inlet
If your storage tank accepts 400 litres per minute, a high-flow 4-inch pump offers no advantage — the inlet, not the pump, sets the discharge time.
Think about the discharge pattern
For curing water taken directly by hose, smaller and more frequent units keep the supply continuous. For tank filling, larger units are usually the efficient choice.
Ask for a recommendation
Send a photo of your access road and your tank inlet with your enquiry. A supplier who knows the fleet will tell you which unit actually fits.
